Yes this is a blog on knives. I've been a collector for a while and it is a hobby that I greatly enjoy. The name of this blog was derived from a song by City and Colour. I found it fitting.
I am however not completely one dimensional. Expect posts from a wider array of topics. Stationary, Technology, film are some of my other hobbies. Actually you will see quite a bit of stationary here.

Strider Knives.

Turns out that the counter strike video game knife was based on a Mick Strider Custom Badlands Ajax Bowie. Looks like game developers had good taste.
It was a one of a kind custom made for a forum contest (the long gone badlands forum) bringing together some of the best makers in the game. They all had to create their own bowie, and none of them pulled any punches.
The entire knife is one solid piece of 0.5 inch thick Titanium alloy (which was then flame anodized). The wavy part is where he press fit the main edge made of Stellite (a high end non ferrous metal). The handles are blue fossilized mastadon ivory inset in carbon fiber.
